I switched back to Win 7 Pro 圆4, same thing, upgraded to Win 10 Pro 圆4 so I knew it wasn't the OS. So here's my build and situation - about 4 years ago I got an AMD FX 4300, and a Gigabyte GA-880 AM3+ Mobo, an Nvidia GT-430 1GB, and 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, at the time I was running win 8 圆4, it was running at 4GB, when I tried one module PC tend to run into issues either one (maybe that was me misconfiguring something) but both sticks would be detected, the full 8GB but only 4 usable. Thing is I highly doubt it's motherboard or ram or processor for that matter - it might be an video card thing (I'm still trying to resolve this myself). If you need more information please let me know. Once i start installing into the 3rd slot, half of the RAM goes to hardware reserved.Īny help would be appreciated. If i just install into the first 2 slots, 4.2MB hardware reserved. This is the same for the 4X4 sticks i have. If i put the sticks in the first 2 slots, only 4.2MB goes to hardware reserved. If i install the 2 stick in the recommended slots, half of the RAM is hardware reserved.
I have gone into MS config and verified the max memory box is unchecked I have reseated the memory and swapped the chips around yet still shows 8gb hardware reserved. Any advice on how to get this unreserved would be helpful. I have a built PC and under windows 10 64 bit i show half of my installed RAM is hardware reserved.
